A businessman at heart

Gilliam has always appreciated business. He created his first business while he was still in school and has created new ventures throughout his academic years. His high school awarded him a trophy for being the Entrepreneur of the Year as well as awards for Persistence and Perseverance when he finished his time at high school.

University was no different and while Gilliam was running a business, he qualified as a Chartered Accountant.

While Gilliam was completing his board exams, he took the opportunity to work as a financial manager of a start-up company. This opportunity taught him the operational knowledge and skills that can only be achieved when working with a team to create and develop a unique value proposition

Gilliam has since completed a MBA with distinction through the UCT Graduate School of Business. After this he was offered a position to work as a financial analyst in the FP&A team for an international company, managing their cost forecasts and budgets for 10+ global locations. This further helped him to learn how to effectively apply financial modelling and business process optimisation skills to a multitude of businesses.
